Local Content supports the Mozambique LNG Project’s commitment to creating sustainable local value.

In implementing a competitive Local Content Program, we aim to utilize and develop local resources (local workforce and local procurement of goods and services) throughout the supply chain, during the Construction and Operations phases, thus extending its impact beyond the Oil and Gas sector.

Local Content Approach

The Mozambique LNG Project’s Local Content approach is based on three pillars:

  1. EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES

Promote the Development of the Mozambican Workforce

  • Optimize the recruitment and training of Mozambicans within the Project (Mozambique LNG Project, Contractors, Subcontractors);
  • Develop skills through recruitment and training;
  • Support selected universities and technical institutes.
  1. SUPPLY OF GOODS AND SERVICES BY MOZAMBICANS

Promote Business Development in Mozambique

  • Promote the establishment and registration of international high-technology companies in Mozambique;
  • Promote the creation of joint ventures and partnerships between local companies, and local and foreign companies;
  • Develop the capacity of local industries (structure and infrastructure works, logistics facilities, construction sites, workshops, etc.).
  1. TRAINING AND TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER

Support the training of Mozambican Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises

  • Promote industrial improvement and expansion;
  • Implement specific action plans to encourage the development of strategic activities and sectors;
  • Training and Capacity Building Programs, through the CapacitaMoz Platform, which aims to actively contribute to the training of Mozambican citizens, MSMEs, and/or public institutions.

Each of these pillars encompasses a set of activities and initiatives developed and implemented in order to optimize local content.
