FIRST TOTALENERGIES SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS HEAD TO FRANCE

The first 11 of 21 students who will benefit from the higher education scholarships in France awarded by TotalEnergies travelled to France today to commence their study.

The scholarships, which are delivered in partnership with the French Government, were awarded following a rigorous selection process which considered a range of factors, including academic ability, gender diversity, province, and background. This first group of selected students will attend some of the most reputable tertiary institutions in France, covering an extensive variety of disciplines at Bachelor and Master levels.

Leonardo Nhavoto, TotalEnergies’ Local Content Manager, says: “It is with great satisfaction that TotalEnergies witnesses the departure of these first students to France."

“Endowing the skills of young people is a fundamental investment to ensure that in the future, they are able to make a positive change in the community and takeover leadership positions in the companies and organisations where they will work in,” says Mr Nhavoto.

Chayrnila Panguene, who will study for a Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, says:

“I feel like this experience in France will bring me new perspectives on how to explore the natural resources that we have here. When I come back [to Mozambique], I want to bring this expertise that will benefit my country and my community.”

Adolfo Neves, who will complete a Master’s degree in Political Ideas in the Digital Ages, says:

“I am extremely motivated to join this master program, it’s a singular course that will award me with unique skills that do not exist yet in the country. Besides that, there’s a 6 months internship opportunity at UNESCO by the end of the program, which I believe will reinforce my experience and give me the adequate tools to return to Mozambique and use all my knowledge to give life to my plans. “
