MOZAMBIQUE LNG PROMOTES PARTNERSHIPS FOR LOCAL CONTENT MAXIMIZATION
The Mozambique LNG project, operated by TotalEnergies in collaboration with the Mozambican Local Content Technical Group and the French business association EVOLEN, held a program of business partnerships in France from 3rd to 7th April. The program included a seminar for information and experience sharing, as well as visits to leading companies in the oil and gas sector.
The initiative involved representatives from Mozambican business associations and approximately 40 international companies, with the aim of identifying potential areas of synergy between Mozambican and foreign businesses for mutual benefit, particularly in maximizing local content within and outside the oil and gas sector in Mozambique.
António Cumbane, Coordinator of the Local Content Technical Group, said: "This was an initiative of great interest to us, as it allows us to bring Mozambican companies together with foreign companies to take advantage of opportunities created by the oil and gas industry. This is an extremely challenging industry, and only through partnerships with companies that have the appropriate experience and technology can we create an environment conducive to Mozambican businesses and individuals benefiting from opportunities and being prepared for future challenges."
Eduardo Sengo, Executive Director of the CTA, stated that "these types of meetings allow us to get to know new players who can add value to what we want to do in Mozambique to take advantage of opportunities using the knowledge and experience of foreign companies in the vast energy sector. Above all, we want to develop concrete projects in Mozambique."
Leonardo Nhavoto, Local Content Manager at TotalEnergies EP Mozambique Area 1 Limited, said: "To optimize the local content of the Mozambique LNG Project, it is important to create and foster an environment conducive to collaborations. The dialogue that has now begun will be crucial to the success of implementing our local content strategy, which involves connecting Mozambican and foreign companies, so that Mozambican companies can benefit from investment, technology, and experience in the oil and gas sector."
